[KIKAnews] 'Listening, Watching, and Convincing' opened the curtain for a novel storytelling program.

Yesterday (15th), the first broadcast of JTBC's 'Listening, Watching, and Convincing' (produced by StoryWeb/hereafter referred to as 'Convincing') attracted viewers' attention with its unique radio drama format that combines drama, entertainment, and culture. The actors' performances vividly portrayed various human figures, with a story of greed, betrayal, and twists, and the behind-the-scenes of the events providing certain fun factors that approached the viewers' living rooms.

The broadcast covered the '6.5 billion gold bullion theft case' that occurred in 2014. Director Jang Hang-jun and actors Seo Hyun-chul, Park Ha-sun, comedian Lee Eun-ji, Moon Sang-hoon, the frontman of YouTube PpadderNers, and the famous voice actor Kim Bo-min, who is known for her unique voice, formed the 'Convincing Theater' members, along with special guest actress Oh Na-ra.

In particular, Lee Eun-ji, Moon Sang-hoon, and Oh Na-ra, who played multiple roles, increased immersion with their various transformations and captivating narrations, as well as Kim Bo-min's excellent character portrayal.

As Park Ha-sun, who played Lee Soon-ae, began the first scene searching the house, Foley artist director Lee Chung-gyu captivated the audience with realistic sound effects on-site.

Furthermore, Seo Hyun-chul, who played the role of figure mania Jo Hyun-soo, and his juniors Moon Sang-hoon and Lee Eun-ji, heightened the interest by acting as a trio who discovered an unexpected gold bullion.

In the midst of this, director Jang Hang-jun revealed his true talent with serious directing that evoked the emotions of the chaotic trio. As the actors' performances improved under his direction, Oh Na-ra praised him as a "great director," and Jang Hang-jun humorously responded, "I didn't join this as a side job."

Above all, Oh Na-ra's tearful performance as the wife of the grandfather who was the original owner of the gold bullion was heartbreaking. The scene where she belatedly learned the reason why her hard-working husband, who had worked day and night, appeared in her dreams three times and offered a greeting towards the sky, moistened the eyes of the viewers.

Additionally, the behind-the-scenes stories revealed by the detectives who were in charge of the case at the time could also be heard. Among them, Kim Bo-min's narration of detective Jo Jung-geun's party, who couldn't keep their mouths shut as they went to Jo Hyun-soo's house through a stakeout investigation, piqued curiosity, and a video showing the actual interior of the house full of 300 million won worth of figures was surprising.

In this way, 'Convincing' provided fresh enjoyment by unraveling the '6.5 billion gold bullion theft case', which was reported in the news at the time, in a radio drama format. The actors had fun figuring out the next story together, as there were scenes they didn't know about depending on the role, and they devoured time by providing immersion comparable to dramas with their excellent acting, directing, and sound effects.

Meanwhile, JTBC's 'Listening, Watching, and Convincing' is a new concept storytelling program where director Jang Hang-jun and actors deal with stories about incidents and people that were not well-known in the world at the time, in a radio drama format. It airs every Wednesday at 8:50 pm.
