Actors Ji Chang-wook and Shin Hye-sun showcase their chemistry in a romantic drama.
JTBC's 'Welcome to Samdal-ri' tells the story of Yongpil (played by Ji Chang-wook), who has protected the village for generations, and Sambal (played by Shin Hye-sun), who left the village and achieved success but lost everything and returns home to rebuild her life. Yongpil and Sambal are childhood friends who were born and raised in Samdal-ri, Jeju Island. When they reunite after a long time, they feel a flutter of excitement.
Yongpil becomes a weather forecaster after losing his mother, a haenyeo (female diver), and works at the uncontrollable "troublemaker" weather office of Jeju Island. He challenges the weather forecasts issued by the central office and even clashes with the director of the weather agency. Sambal is a renowned photographer who goes by the pseudonym 'Jo Eun-hye'. Since she was young, she has nurtured a dream of "growing up quickly and leaving the island," and after escaping to Seoul, she endures eight years as an assistant before finally reaching the top. However, due to a certain incident, she suddenly collapses and returns to the village.
