In the JTBC weekend drama 'The King's Affection,' Gu Won (played by Lee Joon-ho) has awakened as the head of the company and is fueling the sparks of the King Group's inheritance battle with his sister, Gu Hwa-ran (played by Kim Sun-young). As the conflict between Gu Won and Gu Hwa-ran intensifies, the heat of the inheritance war grows, and their opposing records in the business world are explored.

Initially, Gu Won had no intention of involving himself in the company's management and left for England, indicating that he didn't want to fight. He firmly vowed not to return to Korea, but when his missing mother's King Hotel personnel record card arrived, his resolution crumbled. To find traces of his mother, Gu Won accepted the position of the head of King Hotel despite Gu Hwa-ran's warning and set the stage for the inheritance war.

Gu Hwa-ran's provocations were enough to awaken the dormant spirit in Gu Won. He couldn't tolerate Gu Hwa-ran's actions, which valued the company's profits over human lives. In order to save the endangered employee, Cheon Sarang (played by Im Yoon-ah), Gu Won went to great lengths and even dispatched a helicopter. Gu Hwa-ran ridiculed Gu Won's action to save one employee and held a press conference to shift all the blame onto herself, intending to incite public anger.

However, Gu Hwa-ran's plan collapsed due to Cheon Sarang's sincerity in wanting to express gratitude to Gu Won. The public opinion shifted in favor of Gu Hwa-ran, but the journalists started recognizing Gu Won's presence. Even more, when Gu Won resolved to grow stronger to protect his employees, it became a setback for Gu Hwa-ran.

As Gu Won successfully closed the most critical deal at King Hotel and laid the foundation as the head, he gained momentum and weakened Gu Hwa-ran's position by taking charge of King Hotel's 100th-anniversary event.

The expectations for the conclusion of the King Group's management war are high as we wonder if Gu Won can overcome Gu Hwa-ran's numerous allies and claim the throne.
